Ainsliaeasin C, a 7-hydroxycoumarin derivative, is an orally active anticoagulant agent that can be found in Ainsliaea fragrans. Ainsliaeasin C exerts anticoagulant activity both in vitro and in vivo. Ainsliaeasin C can be used for the research on thrombotic disorders[1].

Animal Model: Adult male Wistar rats (250-300 g)[1]
Dosage: 1 mg/kg
Administration: i.g.; daily for 3 days
Result: Did not change the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), PT or TT on the third day compared with control.
Prolonged PT to 41.2 seconds and TT to 128.5 seconds on the fifth day after administration.
Caused no deaths in treated rats.
