MAO-A-IN-4 is a highly selective and reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A), with an IC50 of 0.06 μM against hMAO-A. MAO-A-IN-4 exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, and antidepressant activities. MAO-A-IN-4 possesses favorable ADME properties and is suitable for research related to depression[1].

Animal Model: Male mice (20-28 g, Reserpine-induced depression model)[1]
Dosage: 10, 30 mg/kg
Administration: i.p.
Result: Increased swimming time in the Forced swim test and decreased immobility time in the tail suspension test.
Increased brain dopamine levels and reduced acetylcholinesterase (AChE) levels.
Reduced oxidative stress parameters (TBARS levels) and restored antioxidant defenses (GSH and CAT activities).
Reduced pro-inflammatory cytokine (TNF-α, IL-6) levels.
Provided neuroprotection, with the 30 mg/kg dose restoring normal brain structures (cerebral cortex and hippocampus) similar to the control group.
