Integrin α-IIb/β-3 is a multifunctional receptor that recognizes multiple ligands and plays a key role in platelet function and hemostasis. It binds fibronectin, fibrinogen, plasminogen, prothrombin, thrombospondin and vitronectin via the RGD sequence, specifically recognizing the HHLGGGAKQAGDV sequence in fibrinogen.
