生物活性

Selank is a GABAA receptor modulator with anxiolytic activity. Selank allosterically modulates the specific binding of GABA to GABAA receptors and alters the affinity of endogenous ligands for these receptors. Selank reduces elevated anxiety levels, attenuates stress-induced exacerbation of anxiety, and produces a synergistic anxiolytic effect with diazepam. Selank can be used in the research of anxiety disorders[1].

Dosage: 300 μg/kg
Administration: i.n.; once daily; 14 days
Result: Decreased median time spent in open arms from 40.2 s to 12.2 s.
Increased median time spent in closed arms from 124.9 s to 147.7 s.
Decreased median number of hanging events from open arms from 7 to 5.
Decreased median number of squares crossed minimally from 36 to 30.
Maintained median number of rears at 9.5.
Animal Model: Wistar rats (male, average weight 400 g, UCMS-induced anxiety)[1]
Dosage: 300 μg/kg
Administration: i.n.; once daily; 14 days (concurrent with UCMS exposure)
Result: Decreased median time spent in open arms from 64.7 s (41.7-79.4 s IQR) to 15.5 s (7-26.6 s IQR).
Increased median time spent in closed arms from 104.7 s to 139.9 s.
Decreased median number of hanging events from open arms from 9 to 4.5.
Decreased median number of squares crossed from 39 to 22.
Decreased median number of rears from 6.5 to 5.5.
Exhibited magnitude of anxiety indicator changes similar to non-stressed rats administered Selank, and significantly less severe than changes observed in UCMS-exposed rats administered saline.
