Sodium oxalate is an orally active dispersant and coordination agent. Sodium oxalate causes mitochondrial dysfunction. Sodium oxalate has catalytic enhancing activity. Sodium oxalate induces stable chronic kidney disease. Sodium oxalate induces highly malignant and undifferentiated breast tumors[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].

Sodium oxalate (1-4 mM；1-24 h) 会导致 LLCPK1、MDCK、肾成纤维细胞和内皮细胞存活率随时间和浓度降低，并抑制增殖[2]。
Sodium oxalate (0.1-2 mM；24 h) 会导致 THP-1 细胞线粒体功能障碍，降低基础 OCR 和 ATP 连接 OCR[3]。

Sodium oxalate (Oxalic acid 形式；0.5 mmol/kg；腹腔注射；每日一次，连续5天）与 DMSA (HY-B1768) 联合使用可逆转 GaAs 诱导的氧化应激，降低雄性 Wistar 白化大鼠组织中的砷和镓含量[6]。
Sodium oxalate (无钙饮食中添加 50 μmol/g；口服) 可在 C57BL/6 小鼠中诱发稳定的慢性肾脏疾病[7]。
Sodium oxalate (70 mg/kg 体重；通过饮用水口服；30 天) 可诱发雄性小鼠泌尿系统结石，增加血清尿酸、肌酐、钠、磷酸盐、草酸盐水平以及肾脏钠、磷酸盐、草酸盐沉积[8]。
