Synthesis of Spiro [isobenzofuranpiperidines] J. Org. Chem., Vol. 40, No. 10, 1975 1427 solution was refluxed for 3 hr. After cooling, a few drops of a saturated solution of sodium sulfate were added, and the white solid was removed by filtration. The solid was washed with acetone, then extracted with chloroform in a Soxhlet for 48 hr.
