Paris saponin VII (Chonglou Saponin VII) is a steroidal saponin isolated from the roots and rhizomes of Trillium tschonoskii Maxim. Paris saponin VII-induced apoptosis in K562/ADR cells is associated with inhibition of Akt/p38 MAPK and P-gp. It attenuates mitochondrial membrane potential, increases the expression of apoptosis-related proteins (Bax and cytochrome c), and reduces the protein expression levels of Bcl-2, caspase-9, caspase-3, PARP-1 and p-Akt. Paris saponin VII induces strong autophagy in K562/ADR cells, which can be used for leukemia research. | [Pharmacology]
Chonglou saponin VII has the functions of anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-viral, lowering cholesterol, lowering blood pressure and so on. | [in vitro]

Paris saponin VII (Chonglou Saponin VII) inhibits the growth of adriamycin-resistant human leukemia cells (K562/ADR) in a dose-dependent manner. It significantly suppresses cell proliferation by cell cycle arrest in the G0 /G1 phase. | [in vivo]

Paris saponin VII (Chonglou Saponin VII) (intravenous administration) significantly enhances anticancer efficacy of adriamycin to MCF-7/ADR xenograft model in nude mice. | [target]
