Aspalathin is a C-glycosyldihydrochalcone flavonoid and antioxidant.Aspalathin functions as an antimutagen.Aspalathin can be absorbed by pig intestine as a C-glycoside, and can also be cleaved into its aglycone and sugar moiety.Aspalathin is found in Aspalathus linearis (rooibos)[1].

Aspalathin (5 μg/mL) 经优化的 β-D-葡萄糖醛酸苷酶处理 (对尿液和血浆样本的用量分别为 2096 U/mL, 4611.2 U/mL) 和 SPE 净化流程后，可实现从添加空白尿液和血浆样品中测得可定量的 Aspalathin 回收率，其中血浆样品的回收率更高，且精密度会随酶处理条件发生变化。尿液酶处理的孵育时间为 3 h，血浆酶处理的孵育时间为 1 h[1]。

Dosage: 157 mg/kg ; 167 mg/kg
Administration: p.o.; daily; 11 days
Result: Identified six substances derived from aspalathin in urine: parent aspalathin, methylated aspalathin, glucuronidated aspalathin, glucuronidated and methylated aspalathin, a glucuronidated aglycone of aspalathin, and a methylated eriodictyol metabolite with two glucuronic acid moieties.
Detected methylated aspalathin as the major metabolite in enzymatically treated urine samples.
