colorless liquid, also known as alkane,this is any of a class of saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons having a straight or branched carbon chain and the general formula CnH2n+2, rangingin physical form from methane gases to waxy solids and is found mainly in Pennsylvania and midcontinent petroleum.
용도
paraffin is used in cosmetics as a beeswax substitute. Paraffin is a solid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum, although it can also be obtained from wood or coal. Pure paraffin is harmless to the skin, but the presence of impurities may result in irritation, eczemas, and other skin problems.

C1-C6 n-Paraffin includes:
