五氧化二砷不能像五氧化二磷那样由单质直接氧化得到,因为它在高温下会分解而失去氧最好的方法是用砷酸脱水制得。五氧化二砷在空气中吸潮,易溶于水(20℃时每100g水溶解230g)。它与五氧化二磷不同,对热不稳定,熔点(300℃)即失去氧变成三氧化二砷。它是强氧化剂,能将二氧化硫氧化为三氧化硫。毒性比砒霜(三氧化二砷)弱。长期接触能致癌。

一、健康危害

侵入途径: 吸入、食入、经皮吸收。
健康危害:砷及其化合物对体内酶蛋白的硫基有特殊亲和力。
急性中毒:口服致急性胃肠炎、休克、周围神经病、贫血及中毒性肝病,心肌炎等。可因呼吸中枢麻痹而死亡。短期内大量吸入可致咳嗽、胸痛呼吸困难、头痛、头晕等。消化道症状较轻,其他症状似口服。重者可致死。
慢性影响:长期接触较高浓度粉尘引起慢性中毒、主要有神经衰弱综合征、多发性神经病、肝损害、鼻炎、鼻中隔穿孔、支气管炎等。

毒性:高毒类。
急性毒性:LD508mg/kg(大鼠经口);55mg/kg(小鼠经口)。

6.应急处理处置方法
一、泄漏应急处理

隔离泄漏污染区,限制出入。建议应急处理人员戴自给正压式呼吸器,穿防毒服。不要直接接触泄漏物。小量泄漏:避免扬尘,用洁净的铲子收集于干燥、洁净、有盖的容器中。也可用大量水冲洗,洗水稀释后放入废水系统。大量泄漏:用塑料布、帆布覆盖,减少飞散。然后收集、回收或运至废物处理场所处置。

二、防护措施

呼吸系统防护:可能接触其粉尘时,应该佩戴头罩型电动送风过滤式防尘呼吸器。必要时,佩戴空气呼吸器。
眼睛防护:呼吸系统防护中已作防护。
身体防护:穿连衣式胶布防毒衣。
手防护:戴橡胶手套。
