产品背景介绍：The liver X receptors, LXRA and LXRB (NR1H2; MIM 600380), form a subfamily of the nuclear receptor superfamily and are key regulators of macrophage function, controlling transcriptional programs involved in lipid homeostasis and inflammation. The inducible LXRA is highly expressed in liver, adrenal gland, intestine, adipose tissue, macrophages, lung, and kidney, whereas LXRB is ubiquitously expressed. Ligand-activated LXRs form obligate heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs; see MIM 180245) and regulate expression of target genes containing LXR response elements (summary by Korf et al., 2009 [PubMed 19436111]).[supplied by OMIM].Function : LXR alpha and LXR beta are orphan receptors. Interaction with RXR shifts RXR from its role as a silent DNA binding partner to an active ligand binding subunit in mediating retinoid responses through target genes defined by LXRES. LXRES are DR4 type response elements characterized by direct repeats of two similar hexanuclotide half sites spaced by four nucleotides. Plays an important role in the regulation of cholesterol homeostasis. LXR alpha: Visceral organs specific expression. Strong expression was found in liver, kidney and intestine followed by spleen and to a lesser extent the adrenals.
