Background：
SnoN may have a regulatory role in cell division or differentiation in response to extracellular signals. SnoN acts as a positive mediator of TGF beta induced transcription and cell cycle arrest in lung epithelial cells. The ability of SnoN to repress the growth inhibitory function of the Smad proteins is required for their transforming activity.
