bFGF, Human, Recombinant, also known as Heparin Binding Growth Factor (HBGF)-2, is a 17-kDa protein supplied lyophilized with no additives. Basic FGF is structurally similar to acidic FGF, but is functionally different.

Application(s): Studies of angiogenesis; mitogenesis of fibroblasts; neurite outgrowth in PC-12 cells; receptor binding; tyrosine protein kinase phosphorylation.

Performance and quality testing: Determined to be > 95% pure by SDS-PAGE and N-terminal sequencing. Functional performance is determined by the dose dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors.
