激活素(aotivins) Activin 堤转化生长因子(TGF) β 家族的一种分泌蛋白，可控制胚胎轴发育为有功能的前肠源性组织，调
解多种细胞的生长和分化。多种研究表明，其能诱导胰腺β细胞的分化。尤其与其他因子的联合作用后能发挥更显著的诱导作用。
如activin联合全反式维甲酸可以更有效地诱导鼠ESC为产胰岛素细胞，而activin与BTC共同作用可以转化新生大鼠导管细胞为产
胰岛素细胞。卵泡抑素( follistatin)和表皮生长因子相关肽(Cripto) 是ao2tivins的天然拮抗剂，有研究表明了胰岛分化阶段
导管上皮细胞里的activins及其抑制因子follistatin和Cripto都有所增加卵泡抑素抑制activin的同时，能显著促进胰腺导管细
胞新生而减少β细胞的分化，故选择抑制activin信 号途径可运用于扩增前体细胞，而激活activ in有利于β细胞的分化。这些结果
表说明，胰腺生长和分化之间的平衡可通过activin信号途径的精确调节来实现。同时它还被广泛用于干细胞研究，用来诱导分化的
胚胎干细胞形成内胚层。

Activin A is a member of the TGFβ superfamily. It is a 26 kDa disulfi delinked homodimer of two βA chains, each
containing 116 amino acid residues. Activin A is widely used in stem ce1l research. It has been used to induce the
di fferentiation of embryonic stem cells to the definitive endoderm. The biological activities of Activin A can be
neutralized by diffusible TGF-β antagonists, Follistatin (also available from StemRD) . StemRD' s Activin A is
made in human 293 cells, which renders human- specific post -translational modi fications. We purified this pr oduct
throuzh a series of chr omatography including HPLL to near homogenei ty.
? Purity: Greater than 95% by SDS- PAGE and HTPLC analysis
? Biological Activity: The activity was determined by using a SHAD reporter gene assay in human 293 cells. The
EC50 ranges from 0.5 - 2.0 ng/ml
