生物体内巯基主要包括谷胱甘肽巯基和蛋白质巯基。前者不仅能够修复氧化损伤的蛋白质,而且参与活性氧清除,后者对于维持蛋白质构象具有重要作用。通过测定总巯基含量和GSH含量,能够间接测定蛋白质巯基含量。
巯基基团与5,5’-二硫代-双-硝基苯甲酸(DTNB)反应,生成黄色化合物,在412nm处有最大吸收峰。
