Fe₂O₃-loaded NiO nanoplates have been successfully prepared by a facile method by immersing NiO nanoplates in aqueous Fe(NO₃)₃ solution and annealing the corresponding as-immersed NiO nanoplates. When studied as sensing materials, the as-fabricated Fe₂O₃-loaded NiO nanoplates display enhanced response towards H₂S in comparison with pure NiO nanoplates.
