NaAuCl₄/Cs₂CO₃ was found to be a simple bench top, recyclable and selective catalyst system for the aerobic oxidation of various types of alcohols into their corresponding aldehydes and ketones at room temperature without the need for any further polymeric and/or oxidic support.
