A novel Ni-catalysed CO₂ reduction with N₂H₄路H₂O was proposed. A 50% yield of formic acid with 99% selectivity was achieved by using a commercially available Ni powder catalyst. The proposed method is simple and environmentally friendly because it requires neither elaborately prepared catalysts, nor high-purity, high-pressure hydrogen.
