Wedge-shaped Ta₃N₅ nanoflakes with ultrathin top ends and preferentially exposed {010} facets were directly grown on a Ta plate via one-step nitridation. The mixed CsI–Cs₂CO₃ flux controls the growth kinetics of Ta₃N₅ and possibly has an impact on the dissolving process of Ta.
