Abstract

An inorganic proton exchange membrane with a high proton conductivity of 0.06–0.08 S cm−1 at 70–100 °C and a low activation energy of 13.02 kJ mol−1 was realized by immobilising HPW molecules into the mesoporous silica via a one-step self-assembly route assisted with a structure-directing surfactant.
