We, for the first time, prepared layered Li(Ni_1/3Co_1/3Mn_1/3)O₂ by a novel oxygen plasma-assisted solid-state approach, which almost shows the best performance among ternary cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. More importantly, the developed strategy is time- and energy-saving, and thus promising for large-scale and cost-effective application.
