Promising photocatalysts, Ag/Ag₂CO₃ one-dimensional heterostructures with high length–diameter ratios, are synthesized on a large scale by a simple one-pot method. The photocatalysis results prove that they have excellent photoactivity and stability under visible light. We propose a possible mechanism to explain the photocatalytic performance of the as-prepared heterostructures.
