Abstract
The complex cationligand [Ru(pytpy)2]2+ (pytpy = 4′-(4-pyridyl)-2,2′∶6′,2″-terpyridine) is an expanded 4,4′-bipyridine; we describe the first example of a coordination polymer in which [Ru(pytpy)2]2+ plays the role of a bridging bidentate ligand.
