Abstract

In pyridine, p-tolylisocyanate reacts with [NBun4]3[α-PMo12O40] to give a number of products, among which are the highly functionalized neutral species [Mo10(NC6H4Me-p)12(PY)2O18], the azo compound p-MeC6H4N[double bond, length half m-dash]NC6H4Me-p, and reduced derivatives of α-[PMo12O40]3–.
