Abstract
Addition of E2O (E = Me3Si or H) to [(pyridyl)BX2][AlX4] (X = Cl or Br) and subsequent heating produced the unprecedented trications [(2,6-lutidine)4B5O6]3+ and [(pyridine)4B3O3]3+.
