Towards chloride-free aluminum battery electrolytes: This report discusses the development of a chloride-free organic electrolyte from which reversible aluminum plating can be carried out at room temperature, characterization of the aluminum deposits and insight into electrolyte speciation using both experimental and computational techniques.
