Abstract

Herein, we report an easy method based on extraction and crystallization for the isolation and purification of two representative lignin monomers, 4-propylguaiacol and 4-propylsyringol, from the products of reductive catalytic fractionation processes. The GC purities of the isolated 4-propylguaiacol and 4-propylsyringol reach 93.1% and 98.3%, respectively.
