Abstract

Lead-based perovskites which show remarkable photophysical characteristics have become revolutionary semiconductor materials in the optoelectronic field. However, the lead element in their chemical compositions limits their commercial application. Herein, ODASnBr4 (ODA denotes protonated 1,8-octanediamine) was prepared by a facile room-temperature saturation recrystallization process. The effect of hydrobromic acid and hypophosphorous acid concentrations on the crystallization process and luminescence properties of ODASnBr4 were discussed in detail. Excellent ODASnBr4 with emission centered at 586 nm, an ultra-long photoluminescence (PL) lifetime (3.070 μs) and a high PL quantum yield of 98.22% was achieved. The white light-emitting devices (WLEDs) fabricated using ODASnBr4 yellow phosphor and commercial blue phosphor realize tunable correlated color temperature. This study demonstrates that the two-dimensional layered lead-free ODASnBr4 phosphor may be a potential candidate for strongly emitting and environmentally friendly nontoxic phosphor materials for WLED applications.
