The crystal structure of 2,6-dimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone has been analysed from photographically recorded h0/ and h1/ intensities. The lengths of the C–C, [graphic omitted], CC, C–CH₃, and CO bonds have been determined with an e.s.d. of 0·006 Å, and are compared to corresponding values in other quinones.
