Abstract

The structure of [C₂₄H₁₅N₄O₅P,C₆H₆], 5-triphenylphosphoranylidenebenzo[1,2-c:3,4-c′]difurazan-4(5H)-one 3,8-dioxide, has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The crystals are triclinic with space-group P [1 with combining macron] . The structure was solved from the Patterson function and refined by the method of least squares to R 0·159 for 2500 independent reflection. The difuroxan molecules contain the delocalised ‘phospho-betaine’ system: [graphic omitted]
