The compound [C14H19N2]+[(CF3CO·CH·CO·CF3)3Cu]– has been synthesised and its constitution established by X-ray crystal structure analysis; the Cu–O bonds, four short and two long, contrast with six equal Mg–O lengths in the isomorphous magnesium derivative.
