Readily available lanthanide complexes stabilized by a bridged poly(phenolate) ligand have been used for the first time as efficient catalysts for the insertion of CO₂ into epoxides to generate cyclic carbonates with high activity, high selectivity, and a wide substrate scope under mild conditions.
