3-Decen-2-one (Dec-3-en-2-one) is a ketone compound and is a sprout growth inhibitor. 3-Decen-2-one induces rapid necrosis of etiolated sprout tissue in potato tubers and suppresses subsequent sprout growth. 3-Decen-2-one can be used for the research of potato tuber sprout growth[1].
