Carfentrazone-ethyl is a selective post-emergence herbicide and protoporphyrinogen oxidase (Protox) inhibitor, with an I50 value of 18 nM against soybean Protox. Carfentrazone-ethyl causes severe damage to target weeds (ivy-leaved morning glory, velvetleaf)[1].

Animal Model: Glycine max cv. Hutcheson; Ipomoea hederacea (L.) Jacq.; Abutilon theophrasti Medicus (14 days old, grown from seeds in greenhouse pots)[1]
Dosage: 2.2 g AI ha-1; 9 g AI ha-1
Administration: foliar spray; single post-emergence application
Result: Caused 94% foliar injury to ivyleaf morningglory, 100% foliar injury to velvetleaf, and 37% foliar injury to soybean at 7 days after treatment with 2.2 g AI ha-1.
Caused 100% foliar injury to ivyleaf morningglory, 100% foliar injury to velvetleaf, and 51% foliar injury to soybean at 7 days after treatment with 9 g AI ha-1.
Caused 92% foliar injury to ivyleaf morningglory, 98% foliar injury to velvetleaf, and 19% foliar injury to soybean at 14 days after treatment with 2.2 g AI ha-1.
Caused 98% foliar injury to ivyleaf morningglory, 100% foliar injury to velvetleaf, and 36% foliar injury to soybean at 14 days after treatment with 9 g AI ha-1.
Reduced ivyleaf morningglory height by 84% and velvetleaf height by 96% relative to controls at 7 days after treatment with 2.2 g AI ha-1.
Reduced ivyleaf morningglory height by 99% and velvetleaf height by 100% relative to controls at 7 days after treatment with 9 g AI ha-1.
Showed no significant difference in soybean height relative to controls at either dose or time point.
