Cefpodoxime (Cefpodoxime acid) sodium is a potent antibiotic active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Cefpodoxime inhibits the majority of cells in microbial populations. Cefpodoxime sodium can be used for acute otitis media, sinusitis and tosillopharyngitis research[1][2].

Cefpodoxime sodium 对革兰氏阴性厌氧杆菌 (拟杆菌科) 的最低抑菌浓度 (MIC) 为 0.125-4 mg/L；对小韦荣氏球菌的 MIC 为 0.25-8 mg/L；对微小消化链球菌、无糖消化链球菌和布氏瘤胃球菌的 MIC 均低于 2 mg/L[1]。 Cefpodoxime sodium 可抑制肺炎链球菌和化脓性链球菌的菌落形成单位 (CFU) [2]。
