Dimethametryn is a methylthio-triazine herbicide mainly used for controlling broadleaf weeds in paddy fields. Dimethametryn blocks plant photosynthesis by inhibiting electron transport and non-cyclic photophosphorylation of photosystem II, ultimately causing chlorosis, necrosis and death of sensitive plants[1].
