Metazosulfuron is an acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting herbicide. Metazosulfuron provides complete control of pondweed (Potamogeton nodosus) and prevents its regrowth in transplanted rice ecosystems. Metazosulfuron contributes to increased rough rice grain[1].

Metazosulfuron (82.5 g AI/ha；苗前处理；播后 3 天单次施药) 可实现眼子菜生物量 100% 防除，完全抑制眼子菜再生，并将糙稻产量提升至未处理小区水平的 123%[1]。

Animal Model: cv. Hashemi (indica-type traditional rice cultivar)[1]
Dosage: 82.5 g AI/ha
Administration: preemergence; pouring into flooded plots; single dose at 3 DAT
Result: Reduced pondweed biomass by 100% at 6 weeks after treatment.
Completely prevented pondweed regrowth, resulting in 0 regrowing plants m-2 at 14 weeks after treatment.
Increased rough rice grain yield to 123% of the yield in nontreated plots.
