Protobioside is a steroidal saponin found in the dry bulbs of Fritillaria pallidiflora Schrenk. Protobioside shows no significant cytotoxic activity against human cancer cells[1].

Result: Exhibited a cell growth inhibition rate of -5.0 ± 2.9% in human C6 brain glioma cells, with IC50 > 100 μM.
Exhibited a cell growth inhibition rate of 15.3 ± 4.3% in human HeLa cervix cancer cells, with IC50 > 100 μM.
