WAY-123223 is an orally active potassium channel (Potassium Channel) blocker. WAY-123223 prolongs the transmembrane action potential duration and cardiac refractory period of canine Purkinje fibers. In canine models, WAY-123223 increases the ventricular fibrillation threshold, restores sinus rhythm from ventricular fibrillation, and exerts antiarrhythmic effects. WAY-123223 can be used in research related to cardiovascular diseases such as arrhythmias[1].

Dosage: 5 mg/kg); 10.0 mg/kg (intraduodenal)
Administration: i.v.; single dose; intraduodenal; single dose
Result: Increased the ventricular fibrillation threshold from a predrug value of 8.2 mA to 25 mA (a 3-fold increase relative to control).
Restored sinus rhythm spontaneously from ventricular fibrillation without electrical countershock in some cases.
Increased AERP by 45%, increased VERP by 21%, decreased ACT by 9%, decreased VCT by 2%, decreased HR by 18%, and decreased MBP by 9% at 5.0 mg/kg i.v.
(all values are percent change from predrug state).
Increased AERP by 31%, increased VERP by 20%, decreased ACT by 4%, increased VCT by 1%, decreased HR by 15%, and decreased MBP by 5% at 10.0 mg/kg intraduodenal (all values are percent change from predrug state).
