ZHO-197 is a dual bacterial peptide deformylase and methionine aminopeptidase inhibitor with antibacterial activity. ZHO-197 exhibits an Escherichia coli peptide deformylase IC50 of 0.021 μM and a human peptide deformylase IC50 of 3.289 μM. ZHO-197 displays broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains. ZHO-197 can be used for the research of bacterial infection[1].

ZHO-197 (0.0033-10 μM; 3 h) 可强效抑制重组大肠杆菌肽脱甲酰基酶 (PDF)，其 IC50 为 0.021 ± 0.003 μM，且对细菌 PDF 的抑制作用相较于人源 PDF 具有选择性[1]。
ZHO-197 (0-256 μg/mL; overnight) 对革兰氏阳性和革兰氏阴性菌株具有抗菌活性，对 Escherichia coli BW25113、E. coli ΔtolC、E. coli DSM30083、Staphylococcus aureus DSM20231 和 Bacillus subtilis 168 的 MIC 值分别为 32、2、128、4 和 2 μg/mL，对 Mycobacterium tuberculosis Erdman 的 MIC90 为 1.87 μg/mL[1]。
ZHO-197 (30-300 μM; 72 h) 对人外周血单个核细胞无细胞毒性[1]。
ZHO-197 (64 μg/mL; overnight) 是一种双重抑制剂，可有效抑制完整 Bacillus subtilis 中的肽脱甲酰基酶和甲硫氨酸氨基肽酶[1]。
