2-Nitropropane is a DNA damage inducer that serves as an industrial solvent and chemical intermediate, with oral activity. 2-Nitropropane induces oxidative DNA damage in rat bone marrow cells and acts as a rat hepatocarcinogen. 2-Nitropropane is applicable to research related to cancers such as hepatocellular carcinoma[1][2][3].

2-nitropropane (0.1-1 mM, 20 h) 可在 0.1 mM 浓度下诱导雄性 Wistar 大鼠肝细胞出现显著的非程序性 DNA 合成[3]
2-nitropropane (0.25-6.25 mM, 4 h) 可在雄性 Wistar 大鼠肝细胞 (含量最高) 和雄性 BALB/c 小鼠肝细胞 (含量较低) 中生成具有电化学活性的修饰脱氧核苷[3]

Animal Model: Wistar rats (male, 6 weeks old, 200-220 g body weight)[1]
Dosage: 100 mg/kg
Administration: i.p.; single dose
Result: Measured average comet tail length in bone marrow cells as 9.61 μm; detected 8-oxodG levels in DNA as 5.14 per 10⁵ dG; observed a close correlation between comet tail length and 8-oxodG level.
Animal Model: Sprague-Dawley Rats (male, 150-160 g)[2]
Dosage: 1 mmol/kg
Administration: i.g.; three times per week; 16 weeks
Result: Observed benign liver tumors and malignant liver tumors; Detected lung metastases; Recorded significantly lower body weights throughout the study compared to other groups
