Altertoxin II is a metabolite of Alternaria alternate with mutagenicity. Altertoxin II is mutagenic to S. typhimurium TA98, TA100, and TA1537 with and without metabolic activation. Altertoxin II can be used for the mechanism of mutagenesis caused by mycotoxins [1].
