Western blot analysis of extracts from A549(lane 2(20μg) or lane 3(40μg)) and Hela(lane 4(20μg) or lane 5(40μg)), using eIF4B (HY-P80651) Rabbit mAb. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (HY-P80651, 1/1000) and Loading control antibody (GAPDH, HY-P80954, 1/3000) was used in 5% BSA in TBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Mouse/Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (HY-P8004/HY-P8001, 1/10,000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

功能：是 mRNA 与核糖体结合所必需的。与 EIF4-F 和 EIF4-A 密切相关。在 EIF-4F 和 ATP 存在的情况下，结合于 mRNA 的 5'末端帽附近。促进 EIF4-A 和 EIF4-F 的 ATPase 活性和 ATP 依赖性 RNA 解旋活性。

异构体 & 翻译后修饰：P23588 有两种异构体：P23588-1：69151 Da (预测值)；P23588-2：64805 Da (预测值)。
RPS6KA1 和 RPS6KB1 在 Ser-422 位点磷酸化 P23588；磷酸化增强了 EIF4B 与 EIF3 复合物的亲和力。在 mTORC1 激活后，RPS6KA1 介导的 Ser-406 和 Ser-422 位点磷酸化刺激碳酸氢根共转运蛋白 SLC4A7 mRNA 的翻译，从而增加 SLC4A7 蛋白的丰度和功能。
