Copper(II) pyrithione  (Synonyms: 双吡啶硫酮铜)

Copper (II) pyrithione is a New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase 1 inhibitor. Copper (II) pyrithione inhibits New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase 1 via transmetallation of its zinc (II) cofactor with copper (II). Copper (II) pyrithione exerts cytotoxic effects on pancreatic cancer cells and osteosarcoma cells. Copper (II) pyrithione exhibits antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative bacteria. Copper (II) pyrithione can synergistically enhance the activity of β-lactam antibiotics against β-lactam-resistant bacteria. Copper (II) pyrithione can be used in studies related to pancreatic cancer, osteosarcoma and bacterial infections^[1].

Copper (II) pyrithione (孵育 24 h) 可抑制 MIA PaCa-2 胰腺癌细胞、143B 骨肉瘤细胞和 ARPE-19 正常视网膜上皮细胞的增殖，其 IC₅₀ 分别为 0.15 μM、0.20 μM 和 0.22 μM^[1]。
Copper (II) pyrithione (1 μM; 4 h) 经 4 小时孵育后，在每 10⁶ 个 143B 骨肉瘤细胞中的细胞摄取量为 16 ng Cu^[1]。
Copper (II) pyrithione 可抑制 Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 的生长，其 MIC 为 0.4 μM；抑制 Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 的生长，MIC 为 6.4 μM；抑制 Klebsi pneumoniae BAA 1705 的生长，MIC 为 12.8 μM；还可抑制 Acinetobacter baumannii BAA 1605 的生长，MIC 为 12.8 μM；而在浓度高达 100 μM 时，对 Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 无活性^[1]。
Copper (II) pyrithione (25 μM) 可使美罗培南和厄他培南对产 NDM-1 的耐 β-内酰胺类大肠杆菌的 MIC 降低 10 倍，从而增强抗生素的效力^[1]。
