生物活性

FBP is a mitochondria-targeted, selective anticancer agent. FBP induces oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to Apoptosis. FBP generates ROS and causes double-strand DNA breaks in cancer cells. FBP exhibits cytotoxic efficacy against cancer cells, with cervical cancer cells being the most sensitive. FBP can be used for the research of cervical cancer, lung cancer, melanoma and breast cancer[1].

Cell Viability Assay[1]

Cell Line: NIH3/T3 mouse embryonic fibroblasts, L929 mouse fibroblasts
Concentration: 50-500 μg/mL
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Maintained cell viability above 80% at concentrations up to 200 μg/mL in both cell lines.
Reached an IC50 greater than 220 μg/mL for L929 cells.
Reached an IC50 greater than 290 μg/mL for NIH3/T3 cells.

Cell Cytotoxicity Assay[1]

Cell Line: HeLa human cervical carcinoma cells, A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cells, B16F10 mouse melanoma cells, 4T1 murine mammary carcinoma cells
Concentration: 50-500 μg/mL
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Induced concentration-dependent reductions in cell viability across all tested cancer cell lines.
Showed the highest sensitivity against HeLa cells, with an IC50 of 180 μg/mL and a selectivity index of 1.61 relative to NIH3/T3 cells.
Reached an IC50 of 290 μg/mL and a selectivity index of 1 against A549 cells.
Reached an IC50 of 240 μg/mL and a selectivity index of 1.20 relative to NIH3/T3 cells against B16F10 and 4T1 cells.
