rel-(1R,2R)-Polysyphorin is a neolignan antimalarial agent that is isolated from the dried leaves and stems of Rhaphidophora decursiva. rel-(1R,2R)-Polysyphorin inhibits the growth of chloroquine-sensitive and chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum clones in vitro by mediating free radical damage to key cellular components via conjugated double bonds. rel-(1R,2R)-Polysyphorin also exhibits cytotoxicity against human oral epidermoid carcinoma cells[1].

rel-(1R,2R)-Polysyphorin 对人口腔表皮样癌细胞 KB 的 ED50 为 2 μg/mL，对 D6 和 W2 克隆的选择性指数分别为 5 和 6[1]。

Concentration: Calibrated to determine IC50/ED50 values
Incubation Time: 42 h (antimalarial assay); 72 h (cytotoxicity assay)
Result: Inhibited growth of P.falciparum.
falciparum D6 clone with an IC50 of 404 ± 65 ng/mL, inhibited growth of P.falciparum.
falciparum W2 clone with an IC50 of 368 ± 50 ng/mL, induced 50% cytotoxicity in KB cells at an ED50 of 2 μg/mL, and resulted in a selectivity index of 5 for D6 clone and 6 for W2 clone.
