Alternarian acid is a polyketide compound found in the endophytic fungus Alternaria alternata MT-47, an endophytic fungus isolated from the medicinal plant of Huperzia serrata. Alternarian acid shows little inhibitory activity against thrombin-activated platelets, acetylcholinesterase, or butyrylcholinesterase[1].
