生物活性

BODi-1 is a dsDNA-targeting fluorescence modulator. BODi-1 bis-intercalates into dsDNA, with no external binding in studied concentration ranges. BODi-1 exhibits large fluorescence enhancement upon nucleic acid binding, with fluorescence intensity, anisotropy, and average lifetime decreasing at higher dye/DNA ratios. BODi-1 shows emission spectrum redshift, plus reduced quantum yield and average lifetime when bound to DNA in lipoplexes. BODi-1 functions as a fluorescent probe for lipoplex characterization and FRET studies at a dye/DNA ratio of 0.01. BODi-1 does not induce considerable DNA conformation modification at dye/DNA ratios below 0.01[1].
