DBO-83 free base is a brain-penetrant nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) agonist. DBO-83 free base activates peripheral nicotinic acetylcholine receptors to evoke non-stimulated ileum contractions. DBO-83 free base shows antinociceptive and anti-amnesic activities[1][2].

Animal Model: Swiss albino mice in the hot-plate tests (male, 23-30 g)[1]
Dosage: 1 mg/kg; 5 mg/kg; 10 mg/kg; 20 mg/kg (i.p.); 5 µg per mouse; 7.5 µg per mouse (i.c.v.)
Administration: i.p.; i.c.v.
Result: Produced a dose-dependent increase in licking latency, peaking 15-30 minutes after injection.
Reached licking latencies of 32.3 sec at 15 minutes, 30.4 sec at 30 minutes, and 25.9 sec at 45 minutes at 10 mg/kg i.p..
Animal Model: Amnesic mice[2]
Dosage: 1, 5, 10 mg/kg
Administration: i.p.
Result: Prevented amnesia induced by Scopolamine (HY-N0296), Mecamylamine (HY-B1395A) and dihydro-β-erythroidine (HY-N10497).
