ddTTP tetrasodium is a DNA polymerase γ inhibitor, with Ki values of 0.05 μM and 0.4 μM against bovine testicular DNA polymerase γ. ddTTP tetrasodium can be incorporated into DNA to cause termination of the extended DNA strand. ddTTP tetrasodium can be used in the research of HIV infection[1].

ddTTP (0-100 μM; 30 min) tetrasodium 可相对于 dTTP 以竞争性方式强效抑制牛睾丸 DNA 聚合酶 γ，以活化小牛胸腺 DNA 为模板-引物时其 Ki 值为 0.4 μM[1]。
ddTTP (2.5-10 μM; 60 min) tetrasodium 可被牛睾丸 DNA 聚合酶 γ 整合入 DNA 并引发链终止，且该效应不依赖于 3'-核酸外切酶校对功能 (经 1 mM 5'-GMP 处理证实)[1]。
